I was changing the carb jets. As I roteted the carb I pulled the wires out of the TPS. I was able to do some micro surgery and get them soildered back. My problem is it still acts like it did when i discovered the problem. Won't idle and back fireing. I'm thinking the wires may have touched after I ran it. What could have hurt?* I removed battery cables tinking it might reset the ECM but no luck.

Help.... Please

Did you have the problem before you pulled the wires out of the TPS?

From what I am to understand the TPS really doesn't make much of a difference pluged in or not. I believe the TPS tells the ECU where and when to make timing adjustments as per throttle position. Slight adjustments for a more efficiant power curve.

If you had this problem before the wires I would look for another reason you are backfiring.

The TPS was not the problem. The problem started after the wires were yanked out and the bike was run. That's when the damage happened. I worked all day and swapped every electrical part out except the stator and pick up coil with parts from my sons YFZ. He has been online looking for help and someone told me just what to do and it worked!
