The later year KFX400s have increased compression and different camshafts which make a very noticeable difference. The KFX400 also recieved piggy back reservior front shocks those same years. If you're KFX doesn't have the piggy backs, then you also need to increase the compression. It's very likley all you need to do to incrase this compression is change to a thinner base gasket, but make sure you do this research yourself.

With ATVs, I've always felt that upgrade money was best spent on suspension and handling improvements. If you're riding with the wrong tires, that's clearly the first thing you need to change.
