From the factory manual: Possible causes are, Loose float, Float in contact with the tank, Bent Float Rod.
The readings with an ohm meter should be:
At empty--5 ohms +/- 5%
At full-----90 ohms +/- 5%
Fuel tank assembly replacement is required on EFI models, as the sender assembly is NOT serviceable.
Kind of sounds like "Open the cap and look inside" is the inexpensive way around.
