(This is re-posted from an email I just received..EVERYONE NEEDS TO CALL ASAP)
Hey All,
You need to get on the phone and call these state Senators ASAP like TODAY! They all sit on the State Transportation Committee and are the ones that will move the bill to the Senate floor for voting.
WE NEED TO KILL THIS BILL IN COMMITTEE BEFORE IT GETS TO THE FLOOR!!!!!!!!! (It's going on the floor Monday)
DON'T EMAIL THEM! PICK UP THE PHONE! (Calling Hours 9-5?)
Let them know that Senate Bill, No.S1278 is flawed and doesn’t address the real problem. This bill is only going to create more rules that the state doesn’t have the resources to enforce.
Let them know that there are Federal government programs available that provide funding to educate and open OHV parks.
Let them know that if the state doesn’t open the parks by the end of the year New Jersey is going to have to give back millions of dollars to the federal government that they excepted from the Recreational Trails Program and those dollars were used for every state trail program over the last five years or so.
Let them know that Senate Bill, No.s1278 is a huge mistake and that you are opposed to it!
Please Note: Be very polite and easy going when calling. You don't need to "blast" the person answering the phone, they are just volunteers. Just to let you know!!!
P.S. Below are the links of everyone that you need to CALL!!!!!!
I had a nice 15 Min. conversation with a nice, polite, volunteer. Her response to the things listed above were positive (meaning she didn't know there is NO place to ride legally) and she really felt their was 2 sides to this story!!

Christian,
What email did you get on this ??? I do not see any urgency here unless you heard it was being moved.. It is not on the calender and it is an old bill that has been sitting dormant for over a year since 2/6/06, It was also inroduced on 2/5/04 and 6/24/02 and has not moved. Why wake a sleeping dog ????

In the post, it indicates that it's up for a vote on Monday (5/14/07)...
The alert came from the president of my cycle club (MCI)...
If you find out for sure it's not on the table, please let me know...

BELOW is a link to the only bill concerning OHV`s that moved yesterday.Although it concerns OHV`s it also addresses horses and I do not fell it is aimed at the majority of us who would not damage farmland and crops...S1278 did not move as far as I can find yesterday....
