where do i get a rivit gun big enough to install the black plastic
rivits on my AC 400?

Zman, if your Cat is anything like most other utes out there, the rivets are plastic and do not require a rivet gun to install them - I'm not even sure if one exists. They usually go in base first, then the post is inserted which expands the base preventing it from pulling back out.

I could be WAY off here, but that's how most that I've seen work.

Mine definatly are a one peice rivit.

Takes a rivit gun.
Dealer told me to use bolts and nuts. hmmm

Hmm.. That stinks! There aren't too many AC owners that I'm aware of here. Billdo has a Cat, that's about all I know of. You might want to check out http://www.arcticchat.com - you shouldn't have a hard time finding the answer there!

What size are those rivets?

Air riveters are real nice, but the bigger ones are pretty expensive. I have the maual ones and what a PITA they are to use when you've got dozens of rivets to install.
