Riding Atv In Obx

I was wondering if you are aloud to ride yuor atv on the beatches in the outer banks NC. I know you can ride ur truck on the beach but it would br cool to take my atv out there too.

I stayed down there last year ,and yes it would be really cool to ride the dunes and beaches .But no you cant .We were told that only atv tours(guided)are permitted on the beach.So we checked into it .It was about 10 4x4 suzuki atvs
that have to follow a guide on verry specific trails.And there is no open riding
area.And they moved real slow.

2004 may have been the last year for the atv tours also, and I read it recently but am not sure if it was in NC or ?
