Welp they got us.... well they tried! Kudos to United Airlines/Visa for calling us this morning! Yup! Sunday morning 10AM on the dot, we get a recorded call, immediately identifying us by name, informing us of "unusual activity" so we waited for the call to finish.... Sure enough. 2 charges. (only, thankgod) . We immediately called to check....

One charge for "Computer and electronics" for $120.00 (went thru) and the second $370.00 (denied). BOTH of these charges were made in GALWAY, IRELAND................uhhhhm yeah.

I know I spotted a post here (or on NJBASS or Xterra Owners Club or somewhere) about things I can do to prevent not only THIS but IDENTITY THEFT, my worst nightmare! Does anyone recall the post? I know it mentions contacting the major credit bureaus n stuff (already done) but wasnt there something else????

United already canceled the card, and issued new ones, and will transfer ONLY the legit charges over as per us! So that part is done.(((SAAAY, NOW would be a great time to buy that new KAWI 700 huh???? )))

In case anyone is wondering, our credit card was used online TWICE in it's ENTIRE LIFE, EVER EVER!!!! I refuse to shop online, and dont even have a PAYPAL account ..... It was used once a month ago for more Yankee Tix and once last week for ATV stuff....................

Well, this sucks, I'm just praying it didn't get any further.......

Good to hear you dong gotta pay, but Dont blame it online, you may be better with no credit card at all,for example Have you ever used it at gas pumps, those guys look really legit and some of them take it inside to swipe it, hmmmm... theres so many ways of CC theft is unbelievable, I use my credit cards for everything

I'm out of my truck for each CC gas charge, and only recently started doing it anyway, maybe 10 times total... I just got a few confirmation emails I needed..

10:13AM(EST) FRI was my last online charge, and 10:32AM (EST) was the first fraudulent "charge"... U tell me...

I just keep them maxed out so no one can use them! Especially my wife!

At least it was caught right away.

I got nailed a couple years ago. seems like the number was stolen when I used it on hotels.com or something like that,
cant remember. someone bought a bunch of tires and shipped them to africa. I didnt have any protection plan on the card and the credit card company took care of everything, thank god.
