I've ridden it and the Kawi makes great power for a stock machine (quiet too). Other than that, I really can't find anything special about it other than it has a shiny frame.
If you're looking for the latest and greatest with the most shiny stuff, check out the BRP DS450. they claim to have 9% more horsepower than the rest of the 450 category and they have some really trick design features to reduce weight.
Other than that, I suggest you take a serious look at the Suzuki LT-R450. That machine has so many substantial design features, you can tell it's the result of Suzuki's racing experience. There's a number of things on the R450 the other manufacturers should copy for their ATVs.

DIRTWHEELS magazine just reviewed the four 450's from Suzi, Yami, kawi, and Honda, and then later did another article (same issue) on the new DS450..... Of the four, they still liked the Yamaha as I read it.. Each machine had its +'s and -'s.....
Good issue!

The Kawasaki also has reverse and isnt totally useless on the trails like the LT is without big bucks. I still like the Can Am for now...a 450 will be in my stable next year. It is still too early to tell which one. KTM still has to weigh in.

I disagree. The LTR can certainly go trail riding in stock form. Trail riding really doesn't really place a lot of requirements on an ATV. If you desire a little extra, you can just change the tires and sprockets to convert the LTR to a trail machine. For decades, it's always been easy to convert an MX machine to a trail machine, but it's often unfeasible to convert a trail machine to and MX machine.

The ltr does great in the trails. Only changes I would make is the gearing and depending on the terrain maybe 20" tires instead if the 18s

Yeah, tires would cost an easy $400 more...plus no reverse. I dont see how the kawasaki doesnt make more sense for the PA riders among us.
I am a huge Suzuki fan, I just wish they would make 2 versions of the LT: XC and MX.

One Of my freinds pick one up a few months ago... He loves it but it is small. My trx250r is bigger... Many aftermarket things aren't out yet... Rides great.... He is thinking of getting longer swing arm..

Kawi is having bent frame problems and hard starting issues. AS for a suzuki being usless, that's just a dumb statement. If your any kind of a rider you going to buy tires anyway. I would be lucky to have a set of stock rear tires last me a full day out in PA with those sharp coal rocks everywhere. #2 if you need reverse....ahhh nevermind. What the heck does anyone need reverse for on a 2wd sport quad?
