Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if any of you fellow riders own a 800 Sportsman and can tell me what kind a fuel mileage you get with that machine.

I have a 2005 - 700 Sportsman - non EFI model, its a PIG on gas, usually can get 100 miles outta a tank, but in snow, 25 or so it really eats gas when your spinning the rear end in the snow.

Its hard to say, do you hit the throtle hard, do alot of hill climbing in low gear??? All effects your millage, but 70 miles should not be an issue, but since its a HOG, carry an extra 2 gallon can, your sport quad buddys will love ya on long hauls!!!! I think its a 5.4 gal tank, like 18 miles a gallon, id guess??/??

Hey Kevin,
I went riding monday on my new 2007 800 sportsman and I only got about 50 miles if that. By the time I used a full tank here is what the rest of the guys had in there tank:

My brother has a 2003 600 sportsman and he had just over 1/2 of a tank.
One friend has 2005 500 X2 w/ EFI and he had just under 3/4 of a tank.
Another friend has a 2006 King Quad 700 just under 3/4 of a tank.
Another had Vinson 500 3/4 of tank
Another had a 2006 Grizzly 660 with around a 3/4 of a tank.

Thats totaly nuts. is there anything I can do to help the fuel mileage?
Wes

Your atv and mine get about the same MPG even if mine is a Brute Force 750. The Bigger atv's seem to get bad MPG I think I get 60 miles to the tank. It seem's like all V-Twin atv's suck down gas like there's no tomorrow.
