Hey Dave. I went there last october. Trails were awesome. I think you had to pay like $5.00 a day. The hotel will probably set you up with that. There are sign-up places all over town. Which section are you thinking about riding. YOu know there are like 5 different areas right? Some are close to each other, some are not. We stayed in a rental cabin with like 8 other people. I actuaully crashed pretty bad the end of the first day. I could barely walk for the rest of the weekend. Good thing you can sit down on a quad!!!

The Hatfield McCoy Trails are great! I have lived in southern WV all my life. I can answer any questions that you have. You are allowed to ride in the towns on your ATVs. It is usally much cheaper if you stay with a few friends at a cabin or rental house. I rent houses to riders. We actually have hosted some riders from this ATV forum. We have one place that rents for $85.00 a night Sunday thru Thursday. It is a three bedroom place. If you only have two other friends, the price per night is minimal!

Hatfield McCoy permit sales are changing. Starting January 1, 2008, the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System will be changing it's fee structure to a TWO PERMIT SYSTEM. The new price system will be as follows; 1) They will be selling a RESIDENT PERMIT for $26.50 which is the same price for the current In-State Annual Fee. 2) They will also be selling a NON-RESIDENT permit for $47.00 which is ten dollars more than a current Three to Seven Permit and is thirty two dollars less than the current Out-of-State Permit. These new permits are NOT ANNUAL PERMITS. They will be valid from the point of purchase through December 31st of that year. Even though they are not considered annual permits, if you buy a permit in January 2008, it will be valid until December 2008.

If I can assist you with a trip, just let me know. I will help you anyway that I can.
