Motorhead,
They got a solution for the leaking trans cooler lines on the 06 and 07 Duramax? Mine drip right at the aluminum crimp above the plastic skid plate. Apparently this is a pretty large issue over on the diesel forum. I would bring it in for warranty...but I will wait for a new set of lines to be designed.

Take the lines off, go to a hydraulic shop (like the Parker Store) and have custom lines made. I don't think GM will ever be able to market a good oil line. Trans lines and oil cooler lines from GM have been leaking ever since they first came up with them. The problem is that the hot oils break down the rubber and let the hoses wiggle out of the crimp. If you replace the lines with steel braid reinforced hydraulic lines, problem solved.

That's what I am thinking. From my understanding it has something to do with the cold weather, the hot fluid and the aluminum crimp over the rubber lines. I should market some replacement braided lines.

I havent heard of any re-designs on the trans lines. hell it took 15 years of leaky t-truck oil lines before they came up with ones that dont leak so I wouldnt hold your breath buddy

I think I am going to take them off and go to a hydraulic shop and get some braided stainless made. Then I am going to market them.

I wish I pussied out!
I cannot figure out what the heck is wrong with this Z400!
Carb is clean. Spark plug is new and fires. Valves are in spec. Valve timing is right. Compression 120psi. Will not fire. I just bought a leak down tester to see if the valves aren't sealing or something.

I assume you tried a little snort of ether to see if it makes a sign of life just to eliminate a fuel concern??? and did you check spark with a spark tester or just laying the plug on a known good ground, sometimes a weak ignition system will fire a plug outside the cylinder but not when its put under compression. I always like using the spark plug tester that looks like a spark plug with an aligator clip. oh and wheres the Banshee???didnt know you crossed over man!

I tried ether...didnt get anything. I checked spark with the good ol screwdriver to the painted frame method. My spark tester wont fit the plastic spark plug cap because its designed for automotive plugs (with that little cap screwed on). I still have the Banshee...but the darn Raptor was giving me issues and the Z400 is my little bros. I wasnt going to drive my ass out there alone...fuel costs way too much!
