in my blazer i had the engine replaced and since then on highway speeds it does not like to pass 2000-2500rpm so picking up speed takes forever and passing someone is like impossiable. this is the 4th issue it has been in the shop for since this replacement engine. this is been like this since day one but they wanted to workout all the other issues first then work on this and we are at a stage right now where they see that this is a problem but they basicly said they dont know how to fix it because on all their tests everything is coming back ok. they are hinting at it being a tranny problem but i keep telling them it cant be cuz it was fine with the old engine. theyve had it for 2 days now about this issue alone and they said they posted it on some internet thing to see if anyone else had this problem and how to fix it. trust me on this my tranny is fine. at slow speeds it is fine but once you get up to like 60+ and floor it its worst then a turtle i cant even think about pulling a trailer up to pa with it.

does anyone have any ideas i can give the shop.

First

Then

And finally

Seriously, without hooking it up to a Tech II scan tool, I wouldn't even begin to guess. Sounds like there may be more than one factor. Good luck though.

Crank variation relearn??

Was the scan tool a tech II or something else. The tech II can see and do things other tools can't, like reset things and relearn variables.

hey u know if this has to be done with an engine replacement maybe it wasnt done because i did have alot of problems one was that it would idle at 1k rpm instead of 500 when it was first started.

U really are a glutton for punishment dude. when u stomp on it is the trans downshifting?

lack of power at high speed??? is the fuel filter new? did they put a fuel press gauge on and road test it to see if the pump is putting out enough psi?

restricted cat con? how bout tapping the exhaust and checking back pressure or just removing one of the O 2 sensors and take it out for a quick spin to see if its better (this will give a temporary escape if there is an exhaust restriction)

any trouble codes?

hows the maf sensor readings? sometimes just cleaning it helps if the sensor gets gummed up. I assume the air intake is all in place and clamps tight?

if the crank variation wasnt relearned u just may set an erronious p0300 missfire code with no drivability issues. should def be done tho.

k well they said they redid the relearn first thing before i even talked to them and nothing. they say it is some kind of wiring or electicral problem because everything is working good. the tranny is not shifting down is the issue they said but if you put it in 3rd it works fine, this is what they said i didnt even think about doing that. i truely feel it is the engine because it never did this before. its gotta be something with the engine or something else they messed with. i want it fixed because i wont beable to sell it like it is and i cant tow up to pa with it, it wont have enough balls to make it up the 61 hills. never feckin again i should of just blew the feckin thing up.

nope no more codes or i hope so far i had these codes come up, bad fuel regulator, bad t-stat, bad air pump. this feckin thing has cost me almost 4k. i could of traded it in for a diff blazer for all this headace. oh ya forgot i needed a fan clutch too somehow all of a sudden that went bad after the engine replacement too.

turns out it was a corroded connection on the trottle body, or somethign like that? took 3 days but damn it is fast now!!! she has more balls then ever. just drove it home cant wait to take it to work. hopefully this is the last of my problems from driving it home it drives like it was brand new. well almost everything on it is new lol.

still have 2 more problems 4x4 doesnt work/4x4 service light comes on once in a while and int. dash lights do not work when the headlights are on. other then that she should be running like a champ. but do u guys know why when the headlights go on the int lights dont work?, dash, radio, compass, all dont light up. only the gear selector is lit. during the day its fine everything lights up but if u turn the headlights on everything shuts off. before it was a hit or miss, sometimes they would work sometimes they wouldnt. now they just dont work period. kinda sucks if there is a cop behind me i have to use my cell phone to see how fast im going lol.
