This is tragic, I don't think the person driving the other vehicle shoud be charged it shoud be the parents for letting a 13 year old ride this quad without supervision and at that time of night

This happened not to far from my house. My daughter went to school with the girl that was killed. She knew her very well. It's terrible that things like this have to happen. Stop the crap about where are the parents!!! How about a 13 year old got killed here. Stop being a tough guy and a harda@@ and feel for her and the family. You never know what lies ahead when we are out there on a Sunday having a good time. Before you know it your buddy slams into a tree and gets killed. Then what???????????? Think before you speak!!!!!!!!

I went riding down south NJ and someone was killed in one of the sand pits on Saturday... I was very hot and it's not going to get better.

No helmets, late at night, riding across a road, three on a machine......

People, ya gotta teach your kids common sense. Parenting does not end when they come off of the bottle feedings and diapers. This is another example of here's the keys honey and don't be too late.

What a shame......

C'mon fellows,
I have to agree with both sides here, yes it was dumb that 3 teenagers were out at night on 1 quad trying to cross a major highway and yes maybe the parents should have tried to have more of an influence on them, but you cant totally blame the parents I mean c'mon we all were teenagers at on time.
You never got together with your buddies and had a drink, smoked a little weed or cigarette, snuck out to go to a party came home late and crawled throw a window, kids are going to be kids no matter how much we the parents scream and yell especially teenagers.
I think its a shame that it had to happen and do feel for the families and friends.
For those of us that have kids all we can do is teach them the right way and hope & pray they hold onto the those values, as for everyone esle all we can do is hope that more parents and kids ( all riders a like) will take the time and learn the right way and be more responsible when riding, unfortunately things like this will always happen, just hope not as much.

Hello Wes & yes the is bad soooo bad.

So here is a bit more info.....

The kids asked the parents to take one of the home. Parents said NO...... So the kids got on two quads.... I am not sure (but will find out) if it was on the way to or back. But they were being chased by a cop They turned the lights off to cross the 1st quad made it unfortunately the 2nd did not. Three kids on one quad.......

I know kids will be kids but this being chased!

Wes you and I know that NJ is getting BAD. REALLY BAD! Yeah the kids shouldn't be out on quads at 11pm, & riding with that many people on it............My Sister In-Law's Brother is Devastated

I hope everybody can just say a lil something.....

It's SAD real SAD...................................

I have 3 kids of my own and this is very sad 2 all people involved..... I just thyink as parents we all need 2 pay better attention @ times. Myself included and this unfortanatly at the cost 2 others is a big nwake up call. Again i feel sorry for all the people involved, and r not trying to point fingers.when we go riding in PA i always am blown away by the amount of kids i c on quads without helmets. Cmon guys and gals lets ride safe and teach our lil 1s the same.
