I have a 2003 Honda Recon ES 250. It will not turn over or start with the electric start button (battery is new and fully charged). It will start with the backup pull cable, but will not shift into gear. When the key is on, the green neutral light is dim and goes almost completely out when the electric start button is pushed. There is a clicking sound coming from a module in the front of the ATV under the front fairing. The module is rectangular and has two plugs going into it. Each plug has several wires. Thanks for your help!

Throw a couple of ideas out there....
Grounding issues?
Shorting out, maybe some cut wires touching metal....?

Clicking, lights dimming, and not turning over. Sounds like por conections. Start with wires to the solinoid (the clicking thing), battery, starter, and grounds. If that's not it try removing the sarter and having it checked.

let us know what you found.

Yes check for bad grounds or loose wires. But i'm gonna say bad ground cause it won't shift. Let me know what u find.

Yes that would stop from not starting but will not keep it from shifting.

FYI
I worked on a Foreman with the very same problem. I ended up finding wear marks on the starter wire from the handle bar to the steering stem. They were gounding out the electrical. As soon as I taped up the wires it ran good as new.

not exactly sure which wire you were talking about in that last post,

But i was just looking at my quad, and saw no wear marks on any of my wires.
