on my 250r i run ebc pads and if you clean up your rotor and everything before you intall them there nice. ive had mine for about 3 months now. also i prefer to ride on a hard pack trail first to wear them in. then its all good. :fro:

Hey Mark ... I run sintered pads, front & rear on my 416EX ... the harder you push them, the better they get ... you may occasionally get a little brake squeal ... just make sure to clean them after every ride and they will last quite a long tme

You'll always notice a difference when going from worn out stock pads to a new set of stock pads. It's a matter of whether or not you notice a difference when going from fresh stock pads to performance pads. EBC has several choices of hardness. Carbon is a good mix, sintered is the hardest. Sintered also gives you more roto wear. But if you ride in the deep mud and find braking a problem, you 'need' sintered. I've never really felt a difference between carbon and sintered, but my preference lies with carbon because they stop well cold and hot.

The best "overall" pads I have found have the Honda part number on them, but there are others that I have had good experience with.

EBC sinitered were ok and stopped almost as good as stk but didnt wear as well, but should wear better if you ride more mud etc.

Magnum sinitered are being tested now and seem good so far (cant wait till the damn ice thaws to break them in better).

I have tried a few different brands in the softer compounds and though some performed well they just wear too damn fast.

I am not a super big fan of the sinitered material and look to the combo materials but just have not found one that I like yet, and allways seem to end up over paying for the stk honda pads. I advise anyone who is looking for the stk pads to check out ebay and service honda.com and this is the only place I have seen them priced right.

Recently picked up a pair of the stk honda pads on ebay for 12.00 shipped to my door, and the only thing wrong was that they didnt have more of them LOL

Shouldn't take but one ride to break them in. What happens, is the high spots wear off the pads and eventually they are completely flush against the rotor, giving you the best possible braking. Don't drag the brake to "break them in faster" because all you'll do is glaze the rotor and pads and you'll have horrible brakes. Just operate them normally.

With pads, each individual vehicle has a pad compound designed by an engineer. Each vehicle has it's own compound. EBC for example, might make only 3 different compounds. So that guy over there with the Eiger might have the same pads material you do on your Yamagofast 800cc race quad. Those factory pads were designed just for your quad by the manufacturer to be a good balance between wear (pad and rotor), stopping efficiency and noise.
