Andover Police
On Thursday, Dec. 27 at 10:51 p.m., police noticed a Yamaha all-terrain-vehicle being operated on Route 206. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled.
The operator continued to flee on Route 206 South toward Andover Borough. The vehicle turned onto Smith Street and disappeared into a field. A short time later, police found the ATV and the driver, Ryan S. Johnson, 31, of Green Township in the woods between Smith Street and County Route 606. Further investigation led to police charging Johnson with eluding a police officer, driving while intoxicated, driving under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, speeding, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, careless driving, operating an ATV on a roadway without wearing a helmet, operating an ATV with no headlights, operating an ATV with no insurance, operating an unregistered vehicle and possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. Patrolmen Steve Murrell, Brian Kithcart, Then and Sgt. Ron Smith as well as the New Jersey State Police investigated.

Jeezus christmas, could this guy be any dumber?????
That, is not a bad apple, thats an entire tree of bad apples.
I have zero sympathy for this guy, and thank god noone got hurt during this (let me get this straight) 10PMish, no helmet wearing, drug and drinking induced chase. And he's in his 30's? Open container? Drug paraphenalia? Suspended Lisc? No ins or reg (and no surprise there really)
UN-BE-LIEVEABLE. This is the kinda stuff that greenies just have to sit back and say "they'll dig there own grave" when it comes to obtaining a legal area to ride.

Yeah this sets a bad example for us! I have ridden on streets before(not the smartest idea of me) cop stopped me. I said in my head"$#!T $#!T im screwed!!!!" I told him where i was going and to what trail, i said i would shut off my bike and walk it across the street. He said no, it's safer to ride it and get to the trail very soon! I crossed the street(him staring at me), didn't shift in the intersection worst place to shif and went on my lovely way! I would have crapped myself if i had to tell my dad i got a ticket and the police are at the front door!!!!

This is the type of guy they should take their fustration out on. Impound his quad, suspend his license, etc... Save it for these morons, not some dad, and son riding local trails that are not posted.

What makes it worse is that he was on a quad and not some other vehicle. If he was in a car or driving a boat ,or even flying a friggin plane, this would not have made the news. But since this lovely state hates us so much, and the media feeds the "antis"
with this crap,we will pay the price. The drugs and booze wont be the issue. This will be a poster for those damn "atv riders"
Like we all do this stuff all the time.
