My boy started out on a Peg 12V 4 wheeler at 4, rode that for 4 years, burned out the on foot switch , but it's still in great shape after 200000000000 hours of riding,,,, I got him a e-ton viper 50- he's now 8+ years,,, IT ALL HAS TO DO WITH HIM AND YOU. Teach him the right way and ride with him on your own machine- tell him why your doing certain things, how to turn, etc. He's your son, his mother may be your wife. Most accidents are from over reacting or turning to tight, unbalanced jumping where the back end comes over. W/ motorcycles -when you wipe out, you usually seperate from the bike, w/ quads it's just the opposite,, REMEMBER the training course, and all safety equipt all the time, proper helmet, VEST, boots, etc... IT ONLY TAKES ONCE>>>>>> <<<<<<

Ken is right. Spend the money on the safety equipment.

My guy was on an Eton 50 shortly before he turned 5 (with the speed limiter waaaaaay down). He was popping wheelies, jumping, and trying to tip his little power wheels quad, so we figured it was time to step up to the real thing!

I just pick up an LT 50 for my 6 yr old daughter about a month ago. I thought it may be a little to fast for her since I, at 6'3" and 250lbs, was able to rid ewheelies on it. lol It had no limiter screw in it so I drilled some holes in the bottom of the throttle assembly and inserted a screw in it as a stop. As she gets better, I can move it to a hole that lets the throttle move a little farther each time. Also, there are two sets of jets in the carb. When you want the quads full power, just remove the outer jets. She and I are having a blast on it.
