I just wanted to explain to some what group rides are about.

They are an opportunity to meet and ride with new, and old, people. When we go on group rides, we drive at a nice pace so that everyone can keep up. We always wait for everyone and make sure no one is left behind! We take many breaks along the way to bullsheet with everyone and get to know one another. It is no fun riding all day and not getting to know the people you are with! We are courteous to everyone and expect the same in return.

David's ATV Zone does 1 group ride per month, usually more in the warmer months Doesn't matter if you are a pro rider or beginner. You are always welcome to ride with us.

If you feel that we go too slow or waste time waiting for others who may not be as fast as you or as good of a rider as you are, or if you think we take too many breaks and don't do enough riding then my suggestion to you is not to go on anymore group rides

If I can add my two cents...(hope you don't mind)

I was nervous about going on my first group ride becasue I'm still fairly new to this riding thing and I don't like to keep others from moving along. I have to say the pace we moved at was great. I didn't feel like I was keeping people back but I also didn't feel like I was being pushed to ride harder/faster than I was comfortable with. It was a really positive experience. I can't wait to do the next ride.

It also gave me a chance to put faces with the names on this forum. Its nice to be able to speak in person with the people you 'talk' to everyday. If you choose not to come on a group ride, I think you are missing out on alot. You wouldn't find me on a race track all day..its not my thing. But, to each their own.
It was a great experience. Thats all I can say.

I've been on group rides before and they are great.
Being a quad racer I tend to like to go fast and really challenge myself.
As David mentioned, while the group takes a breather it is a good opportunity
to rip it up and enjoy. Then I enjoy the rest of the break to visit.
Group rides are for everyone and if you haven't been on one,
you should attend one.

I myself have been meaning to go on agroup ride but life keeps getting in the way. Sooner or later I'll make it and be able to put faces to names or icons.

Just My opinion.....

I like the group rides, I have made a few friends, got to know others., learned some new stuff regarding atv'ing.
I can rip it up as much as I need at my local spots or when the group ride is w/ the same type people.
I have "NOTHING TO PROVE TO ANYONE".
I agree with David, If this is not you're "style" , then maybe you should pass.
Perhaps form a group ride with others that share the same "style".You would probably get a large response.
The best thing for ME is.. I bring My 12 yr. old along on these rides , and he gets to see that you don't have to be a head to be an atv'er.
( like the teens that ride around my spots).

just My opinion....

ps. If anyone is forming a group ride to "rip it up"......
COUNT ME IN!

What we do on most of our pine barren rides is...

We ride in groups. You always have a couple of people who know where they are going.

Split off into groups or follow according to speed.

Keep the fast aggresive riders to one group and the cruisers to another.

Or let the faster riders go first and then follow to suit.

We never lose anyone and we all have fun. Also we ride bikes and quads together so we usually let the bikes go ahead. We get to the end of a trail and we wait for the group to catch up. We do take breaks. Depending on who is riding with us amount of breaks vary.

2 cents
