I have noticed while cleaning my quad that I have many kinks in my chain links. So yesterday I decided to take it off and clean it which I have been meaning to do for months but since I have not been riding lately I thought it could wait. Anyways... After soaking all day and overnight in a gas and oil mixture. After brushing it off and blowing all the excess oil mixture and dirt the chain looks great but I still have kinks through out the length of the chain. All the O-Rings seem to be in tact but yet there are still kinks. I clean the quad after every ride and maintain it before every ride and as far as the chain goes I use Bel Ray super clean. Does anybody else have this "kinking" problem or tips for maintaing this type of chain? So, I guess I will have to replace it after about a year and clean more often.

its not a bad thing to change you r chain every year....depending on how much riding you do? when you change your chain you should also replace your sprockets. a new chain wont sit right in old sprockets. look on ebay for sprocket and O-ring chain kits....i got mine there for 70.

I don't think it is a good idea to use gas on an o ring chain. I think it can damage the o rings.

Yea, I read that you should never use gas. Use Kerosene instead. Just what I have read though... :crossbones:

Personally i wouldn't use any petroleum product to clean a chain. This destroys the rubber in the o-rings. I usually use a simple green spray bottle and a wheel brush for cleaning rims. Seems to work excellent, and simple green is enviro-friendly(even atv's can be green). I used Slug's chain lube the last time and it worked pretty good i'll say. Usually i used Liquid Teflon, or lithium spray grease.

Just some suggestions....kinks in chain bad....rob power. 2-3 chains per sprocket set, if maintaind right(so i have been told), me---every chain i change sprockets..
