I read a comparison test in a magazine, for a Trailblazer, that Polaris quads are not good to stand on the rear bumper in order to clean the bottom because the the oil moves to other parts of the engine.
Is this true? Has anyone stood a Scrambler on the rear bumper and cleaned it and had problems after doing it?

Yea, and if you ever have an accident where the quad tips over on its side, you have to throw it away and buy a new one!

I have not heard anything about that, but have you ever tried to stand a Scrambler up? 540lbs ain't that easy to stand on end, alone!

Ridnwarrior, I know it sounds stupid, but read page 49 of the May 2004 issue of Dirt Wheels mag. It only talks about the Trailblazer which is a 2 stroke, but I was wondering about the 4 strokes. I did read somewhere else about it and am still looking.
David, I haven't tried yet, but I know what you mean. When you did, what else did you do (shut the gas line off, etc) before standing it on the rear bar?

I've done it before and have had no problems. Just remember to shut the gas off. As far as lifting it goes..........thats what friends are for.

I stand mine on the grab bar every once in a while. The only problem I had is that I washed it that way and got water in the air box. Just watch wher you spray the water near the top of the seat. I do grunt a little when lifting the front. It's one heavy sucker. lol
