Thought I was in low gear and tried to climb over a log and burned my belt alittle, could smell rubber. Brand new 04, 25 hours on it. Does anyone think I should have the belt checked, or will it be ok just watch the gears better?

I would check it out... it could even be you spun your tires on the log and thats what you smelled... hopefully.

pull the cover and check it yourself..

good luck!

Definitly check the belt. If you have a groove worn in it replace it.

Don't they have a lifetime warranty on the belt? Bring it to get serviced. If the belt is bad, they will replace for nothing....I think

Like all warranties, I think the belt is free, but you still have to pay the dealer to put it on. The bike is still under warranty anyway so I think I'll trailer it down there and have them look at it when I get a new vehicle. Sold the van and need a new tow rig.
