Got rid of my DS650 for a Banshee, the Banshee was traded for a Cannondale, the C-Dale was traded for a Gas Gas. In between there has been a few Warriors and 300/400 EX's. Now that I have destroyed my back I have just picked up an 02 Trail Boss 325. I have a 5yr old daughter who rides an LT50 and an 11yr old son that rides a Eton 90. I needed something that I could put around on when I was riding with them. My question is what do I need to do the the Polaris to give it a bit more pep. All you Polaris junkies should be able to help me out.

The best way to extract a little more power from one of these i have found is in the clutch. You can buy a pre-selected clutch kit, or you can mix and match springs to your liking. THis is believe is the proper way of going about getting more power from these machines. If you get a pipe and filter, you move the power of the motor up the rpm range(you should know this from your banshee), but with the stock clutch, it still engages at the lower RPM and most of the time with pipes, you actually make LESS power at lower RPM's which in turn will HURT performance.

If you can be dedicated to buying good fuel, ask a Polaris race shop about modifying your ATV's cylinder head for higher compression. I've had 2-strokes set up to run on race fuel and a bunch to run on premium pump fuel. In all cases, it made the engine run stronger, start easier, and leave fewer deposits on the spark plug.

I highly recommend this modification, but check with a Polaris shop since there might be some special considerations if your machine is air cooled.

I they get about $75 to mill and reshape a two-stroke head.
