PRAY....

Really, there is no realy means of making it water tight. It is kinda a cheap flimsy plastic cover that always starts to warp from the heat. Also, if you hit water really hard when entering, usually it gets sucked right down the air intake for the belt area....

Sry, but i really cant think of anyway to make it better with the exception of removing the cover and sealing it all up with a GOOD silicone, otherwise, it just suks...one thing i did do to mine was drill a small hole in the bottom of the cover to let the water out, this way when you finally get pulled out you can get going again without much hassle....

PS, trailblazers have the same problem

I very rarely get stuck and I go through all the water I can find. I think it does not matter how deep it is, just matters how fast the initial hit is Take it slow, you never know how deep it is

If you haven't done it already. Remove the zip ties that attach the boot to the cover. Install regualr automotive screw clamps. This helped mine out alot. When you hit the water with just the zip ties water tends to sneak in right past them.

if it starts to slip from all the water does it go back to usual after the water dries up? I was in quite a bit of water today and my trailblazer started to slip. Should I open the case and let it dry out or should it be fine just sitting in the garage

mine always gets wet when I nail puddles real hard, comes in thru the cooling duct. You have to slow down right before the water then nail the throttle accordingly, works every time, took me a while to figure it out.
