Just wondering if anyone here has changed the drive belt on a Sportsman 500? If so was it a difficult process or relatively easy? Have to do mine and wantrd info.

i have the same machine. it should be under warrantee...

warranty is over. I'm going to tackle it this weekend if it ever stops raining....
Wish I had a garage to work in.

If its like the scrambler its very easy. once the cover is off the belt can be changed with no tools,just slips off,upgrade to the kevlar belt.only about $10.00 more.

I got the Dayco High Performance belt for it. The reviews are pretty good for these belts. I wouldn't have to change it except for burning it up climbing out of a mud hole over logs, Thought I was in low gear but was in high. Smelled the rubber burning and it wasn't the tires. Was pretty easy except for the taking off of the plastics around the case, Thanks guys. :smiliethumbup:

ya!!when i changed to a dayco i noticed a nice little diffecnce! but my belt days are over now............
