Ok so last summer i needed to get a silencer slip on for my scrambler 500 and its a '97, and there wasnt any aftermarket slip ons that were made for my year, so i went to FMF and i bought the megamaxx universal slip on with the right sizing and everything, got it in the mail and put it on it worked great added power and everything, but later in the summer my bike started to overheat, the light would come on and id have to stop riding and let the fan cool it off... so this winter its still doing it even when its 25 degrees out i dont get it... i tried loosening the screws on the end cap of my megamaxx and it helped a little bit... adding a few more minutes of riding until it over heated...
so i dont know what to do...
coolant level's fine
oil level is good - just changed the oil filter
oh and another thing... when i stop riding and let the fan cool off my bike... the fan will go off but the light stays on...
could it be an electronical kinda thing??
PLEASE HELP I CANT STAND THIS ANYMORE

Check the obvious first ...
How's the radiator ? check for dried mud or any other obstructions.
Then go onto the electical issue..
If all else fails try some Evans antifreeze.. http://www.evanscooling.com/html/mcycles1.htm

It could simply be your ATV's thermal sensor. There may be way to test it. On Sea-Doo watercraft, the procedure in the service manual said to boil the sensor in water on your stove then measure the device's resistence with an ohm meter.
