hey i've had my bike for three years and my shifter/trans is starting to bind. i recently rebuilt the shifter with a new plastic bering ring (the white piece at the base) and it binds to the point that it must be jerked into gear or out, mainly out of reversr by means of vise grips. also i bought a pair of good year rawhides from a dealer and got less than a mile on them before tearing the side walls any other trouble with these tires?

The shifter problem I don't know about without seeing, but as far as the GoodYear Rawhides I have a set on my sportsman and they are a pretty tough tire. I have ridden alot of rocky trails pretty hard and mine have always come out alive. The tire pressure I keep in them is 3 lbs, maybe that could be your problem. I would go back to the dealer where you got them and ask.
