Thumbs up

All of a sudden, my fuel gauge always reads full! No other problems with instruments or gauges that I know of. Any ideas??

Yeah, sounds like it went bad. :P 2006? Waaranty it? or replace it.

Ok, as silly as that sounds, maybe upon inserting a funnel into the tank something may have bent, or is just sticking somewhere. Question, is the guage digital?

Warranty is up, and the local dealer is crap! I refuse to give him the service business. I'd have to trailer the bike 60 miles to next nearest dealer & I'm trying to avoid that. The gauge is a digital bar graph that is part of the spedo LCD display. Everything else on the display works fine, and I'm leaning toward the level sensor (which I'm assuming at this point is electronic) wherever that may be! I've never inserted a funnel into the tank opening & have been very carefull while filling the tank. Thanks for your response.

I'm reasonably sure the service manual will tell you to measure the resistance of that fuel sensor. Weren't the service manuals for Polaris availble on the web?

I have an 05 SP 700efi... Mine does the same thing. It shows full till it is under a half tank then it will change. I'm sure the dealer cant do anything about it. I just deal with it & know that i can go over 50 miles on a full tank. Good Luck.

I've never owned an ATV that had a fuel guage, but they've all been caruburated and have a reserve feature on the fuel tank.

From the factory manual: Possible causes are, Loose float, Float in contact with the tank, Bent Float Rod.
The readings with an ohm meter should be:
At empty--5 ohms +/- 5%
At full-----90 ohms +/- 5%
Fuel tank assembly replacement is required on EFI models, as the sender assembly is NOT serviceable.
Kind of sounds like "Open the cap and look inside" is the inexpensive way around.
