my quad starts fine but after riding I have had to turn the gas off and do a lap or so and run the gas out of it or it floods. now it does it almost every time and will not start for a day or so. a couple times I had to pull the plug and crank it a few times to dry it out but that isnt working now either.
my question is, would it be the carb making it flood out or would it be something worse like the rings or something.

My non techie answer would be. Flooding is fuel in the cyl. If your rings were bad... the fuel would probably drop into the motor itself. So rings probably aint it.

My guess is a carb issue for sure. Maybe float problem is my guess.....

My non techie answer is over. Thanku,

MGJ

Does this machine have a fuel pump? Does the engine flood when it's not running?

doesnt have a fuel pump, its a 95 250 polaris trailblazer with the electronic throttle control, but I believe it is just a cable to deliver the fuel manually. I do notice a small gas leak at the bottom of the carburetor itself, also when it floods a lot of gas leaks into the exhaust pipe and sits in the u shaped part of the pipe directly off of the cylinder head.
Thanks a lot for the quick responses, the snow has been falling here and I'm itching to ride!!!

pull the carb..Most likely the viton top of the needle valve is shot on the float..while your in there give it a good cleaning with carb cleaner and compressed air..
