Greetings,
For those who have not already heard about this, the Reading Anthracite Company has implemented an access permit program for ATVs, Motorcycles and others that wish to legally access their thousands of acres.
The permit gives you permission to park and ride on their properties and costs $100 per year - well worth the price of not having to look over your shoulder ever now and then. You have to go in person - Monday through Friday, 8 to 4:30 - to read and sign the permit/waiver form (one page - front and back).
You will need your drivers license, the registration for your ATV and proof of insurance. They will make a copy of what you signed and give it to you along with a button that has the same number as your permit. While you're riding place the paper permit in the windshield of your car or truck and the button is to be displayed somewhere on you while you're on the trail.
The permit is relatively simple - one side is your list of the DOs and DON'Ts, which are pretty much common sense (NO alcohol, drugs, littering, defacing or destroying property, etc...) and the other is the waiver portion saying that if you ride there and get hurt, you won't hold them liable.
One rule that needs to be reiterated is that they do not want anyone in any of the active mining areas, and these areas will be posted. PLEASE ADHERE TO THIS! Even if you don't care about your own safety, if the rules aren't followed, they'll pull the plug in a hurry!
It only takes a few bad apples... :banghead: :soapbox:
This is a great opportunity for us, please do your part to positively represent the sport!

Has anyone been there yet? Do they have a day pass, so you can try it first? I would hate to spend $100 bucks and then find out it is not worht it.

Got mine the day they went on sale. Well worth the $100. Been there three times this year already. They got it all, mud, hill climbs, tight trails, play areas, open trails (so you can max out your machine). Sorry, no day passes.
