Went riding last week with "The Mayor" and another member back at “Da River” for an after work ride. We were having a very enjoyable outing until; we decided to start heading home. As we started heading back towards “Da River”, you have to first cross a small brook. Now you don’t ride through the brook, you ride around the brook on a small cliff then back onto the path. Well as luck would have it, I was the last rider and when I came to the cliff, I couldn’t see (keep in mind that it’s 9:00pm) a small fencepost sticking out of the ground. I hit the post with me rear wheel my bike flipped over and I went flying off. Lucky for me, nobody observed this happen. I then got up, brushed myself off, and attempted to get my Scrambler back on all fours before anybody noticed that I was M.I.A. After taking a minute to get my bike started, the other two riders came back for me. Now that we’re all facing each other, there was no way to back up because it was to dark and no way to turn around because there was no room due to the brook being right next to us. So we determined that it would be best to pick up the front ends and spin the bikes around. As I got off my bike to assist, I stepped just a bit too far to the right, and down I went, ten feet, head first, without my helmet on. Fortunately for me, the concrete at the bottom broke my fall. And the two inches of water really helped cushion the blow.
To make maters worse, I couldn’t get out of the brook. After finding my way out in the dark (used my old boy scout training) we mounted up and headed home for a good laugh.
When all was said and done, I only walked away with a sprained liver.

Yeah, that was a funny shame story that night, myself and Burneke were present for that one, I'd also like to add that I knew the creek was there, but didnt know it was a concrete "barrier/creek" thing there, so he basically swan dived in. So I yell down not knowing how far down he was (remember, all I heard was SPLASH!!)...
Conversation something like this.
"Dude, you OK?"
And I hear "Oooooooooh"
"Vin, ARE YOU OK?"
"Aaawwwwww"
"Vin..."
"Yeah, I'm OK, this concrete broke my fall"
" "
Followed by him sloshing around the creek for a minute until he found a way out. Once out, and we all caught our collective breath, him from falling, me and Kenny from laughing, we decided to finish the ride home. We pulled in a bit late, and decided to load up first... well, not me, I just pull into the garage :hysterical: , and hang out in front of my house. We shared shame stories from the past and a few great laughs too, we must have been there another half hour or so laughin our butts off......... Aint that right? Culligan Man? :hysterical:

So I left out a few small details. I didn’t want to bore everyone that much. Not to mention, you have a much better knack on putting a jocular twist to it

Hey Vinny, we didn't know you sprained your liver. Are you sure you're OK?

Glad someone from the town did'nt notice any damage to the cement. They might shut down that riding area.

Hmm, Pete, funny you mention that. I have another story to tell of that night...

Lets just say that a few locals may just ruin this spot FOR GOOD soon if they "keep it up".... and sad part is, I know quite a few of them. I read one of them the riot act the other day at a friends deli, and he decided he should no longer speak to me... Like I give a

I'll stick it under a new category called "No helmets, plus lots of beer = potential for serious injury, and no more riding areas in this town, ever."
