So, I'm riding on the back of my husband's quad....we're riding along. All is well, I'm checking out the scenery. Sounds good, right? :rider:
So we're flying down this trail, and at the last second(the VERY last second) he yells 'DUCK!'
I look straight, and BAM! my head slams into a fallen tree. He, of course, bent down so only I was hit.
The helmet flys off my head, and I jump off the quad- holding my head in pain. This was the first time I actually saw stars...
Moral of the story: ALWAYS wear a helmet. NEVER check out scenery if you're flying down a trail. Keep your eyes FORWARD!!!

excellent advise ... thanx for sharing ... some better advise would be NOT to ride double on a quad, unless it was made for two riders ... glad you're alright

Oh, so it was my fault huh? We just went down that trail and ducked at the same tree about 15 minutes before that...

Don't worry Mark, I didn't want to ride with you anyway!
What, are you afraid you can't keep up with a girl??
It's all good, just busting your chops. PM myself or Jim and
we'll hook up sometime.

I tell ya, I've cracked 5 helmets mountainbiking, and my head was always fine, other than the stars. THANK GOD for helmets. I would imagine that on a quad it is even more important. Most accidents happen on the first time you ride a trail. At least that is the way it was in mountainbiking. I've learned the hard way to always check out the race route BEFORE the race, even if it takes some energy away from your performance. It's worth it. Glad you got a new Rancher! I love mine. Did you get the GPS too?
