Unhappy

only july 2nd i was hit by a car. it was a nice sunday, i just finished tuning my banshee 100%....just dumped $3,200 into it, have reciepts for that much..just finished tuning the new 36mm 2into1 carb setup, perfectly jetted, got the stickey cable the be the smoothest thumb throttle to push, EVER!

so my buddies and i start off on our riding experience. we head off to the normal riding spots, to warm up. hit the local track and hills. but since my quad was now running 100% i wanted to take it off to the far track. by road this track is 15mins from my house...by the trails it takes about 40mins....but its a fun as hell ride. and the track is sand(in PA, so we likey it). a couple nice jumps, nice whoop section and all the middle is just fun bumps and stuff. and the mile stretch behind it has a nice little jump every 35feet. and a straight stretch or drag racing. okay now to th story...

so we were riding at this track and about 200 feet down the road in front of it there is another trail that leads to a shail pit...which is very fun also. some hills and such.. so we come to the entrance of this track and about to hop on the road for a couple hundred feet. my friend wnet first, and i was out second...with a couple behind. soon as i crossed the road to start down the 200feet journey, the friend behind me says" BALALbLALALA"...so i stopped, and said "WHAT?!?" and he said, "theres a cop!" the friend in front just kept going right past the cop...but i decided to turn back. so now im sitting in the road trying to make a left make into the entrance of the track..i was hoping the pack of motorcycles in front of the cop would let me turn..or else i was screwed..maybe. becuase the cop didnt do anything for the person who passed him. but the motorcyclists let me..attempt to turn. as i was about to turn, i got hit by a car. and thats what i remember...

i was hit in the left front of my quad as i was trying to turn...although they did call my parents and tell them that i was not going to make it, for 2 reasons...first, because of the amount of blood lost. (helmet flew off upon impact..) i landed straight on my head. according to the police report, flew 19' up and straight on my head. second, because i broke my neck.. but m here! then while in the hospital, they thought i was paralyzed, i showed them, three times!

so now i am held from ever doing physical activies again(racing, football, etc). too bad i planned to come home sunday and order some new shocks from my shee, for the next weekends race. stock to stiff...also was going to put my new LSR axle on monday...:-(

i also tried to sew, because in mine and my families eyes, this was the right thing to do. with rediculous medical bills and me being scarred for life at a young age. but of course i lost becuase, i was on the road illegally, and the cop saw that.. and for the fact thats its the cop, and lady who hit mes word against mine. NO ONE ELSE SAW IT...

also, dont forget to check the for sale section, as im left with no choice but to sell it.

now to the pics.. last is what it used to look like...

before the accident

Happy to see you are around to tell the story. But rules are rules, you know that. Also, be prepared for the negative crowd, dont say you havent been warned. I know you might be expecting it....

To a speedy recovery even if not full , and maybe, if the family will permit it, maybe you could get out on a 2 up quad as a passenger

Good to have you around to tell the story.... The quad, while damaged, does not begin to tell the story of your injuries really, looks almost minor compared to what happened to you. Too bad it wasnt the other way around, minimal damage to you, lots to the quad..

Keep those pain killers in check and take care of yourself!!

Helmets need to be fastened. I don't know if it's a trend or I'm just noticing it more lately, but a lot of people don't fasten the strap when wearing their helmets.

I'd hate to say it but thats like a burglar trying to sew if they get hurt in your house while breaking and entering..
Thats the chancne you take if you venture on the road...And thats why it doesnt pay to run from the law, people panic and get hurt..

Riding on the road, running from a cop, getting hit by an innocent driver who HAD the right to be on the road and YOU have the nerve to sue?? is this world coming too? If I was the driver of the car, I WOULD BE SUEING YOU!!!

Consider yourself lucky to be alive. Start going to church on a regular basis thanking God for sparing your life and most importantly, do ALL ATVers and dirt bike riders a favor, STAY OUT OF THE SPORT We have a hard enough time trying to get places to ride. We don't need people like yourself making it even tougher.
Thank you

This is only my opinion and not those of AllTerrainRiders and it's sponsors

<span style="color:#336666">JMan,

I'm glad you're OK. Don't listen to these guys. In their younger years, they ALL did you what did- ride on the road, run from cops, etc. - and more, I'm sure. The difference is that didn't have the same life-altering results as you.

The word that sets everyone off is sue. Lawsuits happen WAY too much these days and we're all paying for it. No one wants to hear about ATV'ers doing something that could/would lend itself to negative publicity these days either. I think you know all too well how bad things have gotten in NJ with respect to OHV use in general.

So again, I'm glad you're OK. Hopefully you can somehow turn this into a positive, motivating event and look back on it as a change that was for the better.

Here's to a speedy recovery!

Dude, speak for yourself. You obviously do not know me or half of the people on this site. I am glad that this kid didn't die so he can be a daily reminder to you and yours of what not to do. I am also glad that he didn't kill any of the bikers or anyone on the road. I may sound harsh, but that is REALITY, you know the thing that you youngins have a hard time facing. I HAVE NEVER RUN FROM THE POLICE NOR TRY TO RIDE ACROSS A ROAD (I PUSH MY ATV ACROSS ROADS!). In my younger years, we didn't have quads, we had trucks, and I didn't try to run then either. Do not try to condone what happened with comments like that, maybe he should listen to David and thank someone he's still here.

These comment probably reflect the feelings of alot of people on this site, but I WILL NOT SPEAK FOR THEM!!!!!!
