I have a 2003 Suzuki QuadRunner LT160
Well, I put on the new brake shoes for the front. I adjusted them all the way out and they still do not grab as good as they should. The brake lever still touches the handgrip when it is pulled. What the hell? I really hate to have to bring it back to the dealer for service.
Can anyone help me?

Did you adjust them at the drum? Thats where my second adjustment is. Also if that doesen't work you can pull the drum bacl off and move the spindle a couple of notches and see if that helps. Dont go to far though or the drum wont go back on.

I am not sure where to adjust them at the drum. Where is it?
I need to get a manual for that quad!

That quad is starting to piss me off!! Guys, remember last time we went riding and the bolts kept lossening up? Well I lost 1 of the 4 bolts that hold the axle to the frame. Apparently when the bolt was jolted lose, it stripped some of the threads. So now, I can not get the new bolt to thread in. I would have to take the axle off the re-tap the threads. I think my best bet is to take it in to the dealer, but I am sure I will pay out the wazoo....

Are these mechanical drums or hydraulic? I don't know that much about the Q-runners.

They are mechanical drums. Any help you could offer would be good. I am seriously thinking about bringing it in for service. I am not a mechanic, I just play one!
