i ust looked at the post agian... what do you mean the spark plug should be blue? it was black....
hmmm....and its always wet, but i dunoo..
The spark that jumps between the electrodes of the spark plug should be bright blue. Any other color spark like red, yellow, or orange spark would indicate a weak spark. Cam timing has to be right. A wet plug says you are getting fuel and the plug itself being black indicates that the fuel is burning to some extent. if you disconnected the compression release cable it should be hard to kick over if not look at the valve train again

Looks like things are slowly moving along but thought I would add that a plug that is black and wet will not fire as well as one that is shinny and clean.

Hard to diagnose it just from a plug but unless you were pumping fuel into the cylinder that didnt burn the plug should not be wet, and thats a sign of being flooded.

A black plug would indicate a rich running carb etc.

I am putting the two together and starting to think you got yourself a carb problem, or I would at least be checking the carb to be sure its not the problem before rebuilding the engine again, and I dont think the drain plug leak is related to any of this either.

So check out that carb and lets hear what you find.

hmm... a carb problem? lol.. .that sounds a little bit better than a motor rebuild right now... if it is a carb problem, where would i start? would i be looking for a bad float? or be lookin for something else? and back to my motor.... yeasterday, i took the top of the head off, and it tries to kick over, betterthan with the head on.... and there is no change from when i use the decompression lever, to when i dont... *sigh* lol...... but lets hopefully, say that its the carb.... if it is running really rich, which way does the screw have to go?.........but.... if it does wind up running after i talk to your guys, i will be gratefull to no extent...

i may have a brakethru..... i looked at the carb, tor it down, and it all seemed to be fine. so i utthe carb back together, put it on, tried to postart it.. nada, so then i put the topof the head back on, tried to pop-start it....(cause it seems to be more effective that way)..... and...nada, so i pulled it back up to the garage, and was pondering on what it could be... i lookedup timing in the clymers manual, and it really didnt say anything, so im like okay, so i looked tru the booklet adn didnt get anyideas..... the i look at the top of the motor, were the ti of the head it, and i took of the circular covers, there was 2 of them., tried to pop start it... still no difference. so i grabbed a rachet, and loosened the little scres-type thingys that were in the "uncovered hole"... tried to po start it in4th gear.... BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRR.... (held the clutch in, it italed (please forgive my spelling) for a sec, pluh (died)(and keep in mind, this was only after giving it a 10 foot head start, i was too tired to push it 100 foot, cause it aint light.. )... i think i mgihta gotten a brake thru, after 13-12 pakcs of mountin dew livewire, and countless nites.... but now, i jus need mroe help, but maybe what i said could help you guys help me..

First lets think that you are one great "speller" but a terrible typist so that you dont get the life teased from you for missing every day of school

Well most likely those screws under those little covers were the adjusters for the valves (take a look in your manual and make sure thats right ok) and if they were over tightened or just not allowing the valves to close you have found your initial running problem.

Look in the manual on how to adjust them (get help if you need cause you wont want to cause any additional damage) get that straightened out etc and put in a clean preferably new spark plug and see what you get.

You may need to jet it in a little etc but it should run from what you have said above.

Can you tell me why you are "pop starting" this thing with a 100ft run, and is there something else your needing to fix like a starter or kick lever etc?
