To make a long story short, I co-signed for a bike on a suzuki credit card. My ex took the bike and the paperwork, has now declared bankruptcy, and I am liable for the credit card he's been nice enough to rack up on me.
Does anyone have the phone number of the GECFI/ suzuki Northeast credit card company? I need 2 things- the bill, so I can begin paying it back, and the past 16 months of statements so I can see what he charged on there, and get the stuff he bought back, along with the bills for them.

Ok you got some things to keep you busy dont you

First thing you need to do is repo that bike since you are now going to be paying for it you may as well have possesion.

Then before you make one single payment you had better speak with an attorney and find out all your legal rights because you may not be needing to do anything due to the pending bankruptcy as this changes a lot of things. Also dont be concerned with the many letters and calls you may be receiving as this is typical and there not concerned with your best interests at all and only making good on his screw up.

Now as far as getting the info you need. First try the easy way thru a search on the net, and if that doesnt work I am sure every suzuki dealer has the info you need so call them up.

Just remember that before you start making any agreements with them you need to know your legal status so you dont get into more trouble than he has you in now.

And good luck as your gonna need it.

I tried; it wasn't considered a 'secured' debt, but his lawyer did agree to give me the bike back (nice, I get a year old jr80 with a $3000 price tag). I need to get my hands on all the back statements so I can figure out what he charged on there- damn straight I want EVERYTHING he bought, if I'm gonna be paying for it.

Fortunatly, tho, I did manage to get included $6200 of the $12,000 loserboy owes me- and the second he defaults I'm gonna repo the KLR650 I bought!

"loser boy" wow thats a great one

Since it sounds like you got your info together on all the legal stuff I got to bust you a little OK. Its all in fun.

Sounds like loser boy got all the toys, and just curious what you got besides rid of loser boy

You dont have to answer that as it was really a statement and not a question.

Just really suks when things go seriously wrong and one person seems to get stuck with all the BS.

Hope it all works out for ya.

See the interesting thing is that as a co signer you have very limited rights beyond being legally liable to repay the loan, but with the bankruptcy there are many changes to your rights.

I am sure since she is speaking with an attorney (hope its a good one) that he has explored all the possibilities.
