i might need some help with my 230, im putting the engine back and not sure how to set the timing, all i thought to do so far was move the piston to TDC and then put the chain on the cam poistioned with both lobes facing downward.

any tricks or ideas incase this doesnt work?

also i lost my clymer, could anyone upload me a electrical diagram? im trying to find it everywhere, but i cant find the dang thing

There are timming marks on flywheel and the case for the magneto that have to be inline. There are 2 or 3 marks on the cam sprocket.

Turn the engine in the direction the enine turns when running. Line up the timming marks on the flywheel and case. Line the 2 timming marks up on the cam sprocket parallel with the top flat part of the head that is next to the cam sprocket.

If there are 3 timming marks on the cam srocket the third mark points up when the other 2 are parallel the the top flat on the head.

turn the engine over 2 full CRANKSHAFT turns (same way engine turns when running) and check that the marks line up. :smiliethumbup:

don't forget to reset the timming chain tensioner
