Anyone here run TIRE SLIME as PREVENTATIVE? In other words, you install it before you get a flat, and does it work?

Good stuff.

I don't use it in my personnal machines because it can cause an out of balance situation at higher speeds. I do use it in the tires of a Ranger 6x6 at work. At least 3 of the tires have multiple nail punctures and I have not added air since I installed the slime. It makes a mess when I do have to change them though, so its a trade off.

its easy enough to plug a tire on the trail if you have too. why waste the money on sliming a tire that may never recieve a puncture anyway???

Agreed, It does work. I use it on low speed tires, Like wheel barrel tires, lawn tractor, hand truck tires.

Funny Mark ,yeah its friggin messy.Im still cleaning that crap out of my toolbox. I use it all the time at work and put it into my brand new atv tires(no leaks yet) before I ever rode it.
You never change your own tires so who cares if its messy-PUT IT IN! you get too many flats..PUT IT IN !
As far as the out of ballance thing....On a sport quad I would bet you can feel it ,but on a big 4x4 you would never notice it.

Agreed, You feel it on a sport quad , I put it in all my stock tires and I guess it didn't spread even enough, Got a lil wobble on one of the front wheels , I only feel it on a flat fast run though..

I knew you'd see that. As for swappin my own tires, u got that right! Hmm, I should re-consider? Especially with MUDLITES... damn are they prone to sidewall flats...amazing.

So, to clarify, the stuff stays wet all the time? Meaning it moves? Or will it eventually settle and dry, sounds like I should put it in before a ride and beat her up then, yes?

I was just looking at it in Walmart the other day because my wife's Trailboss has a bead leak and I was wondering if it would help. The bottle specifically says it won't help with bead leaks or sidewall punctures. I'm assuming it stays in liquid form and keeps spreading over the punctures. I also didn't like it because they want more slime in an ATV tire than a car tire! I thought the chance of it causing a balance problem was way too great. They want over 1 small bottle for each tire! Walmart has a gallon size with a pump that you would need to do a whole quad.

I have all 15 of our park quads on the juice. So far we know of 4 instances that we should have lost air and we haven't.
Coincidence, who knows, but we'll keep running and testing.
I hate having to stop and plug tires, no matter how easy it maybe. Rather keep riding and not have to look back.
Change tires? I let the dealer do that, and he was the one who recommended the stuff.
