I just traded up my raptor 660 for an 08 700r and it has less than 5hrs on it. Already it is drinking coolant and burning oil. The engine overheat light has not come on but the exhaust pipes are glowing red and there is a severe loss in power. I checked everything I could to solve the problem myself but nothing is working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know the yfz pipes glow, normal
maybe use a little oil during break-in

the coolant thing and loss of power doesnt seem right, new machine bring it back before damage is done that you will have to pay for out of pocket once the warranty is over.

How much of the pipe is glowing red? The first inch maybe normal but if its 8 or 10 inches down the pipe I would be scared.
Maybe the muffler is clogged ,maybe running way to rich. Both would turn the pipes red and explain the no power condition.
But where is the coolent going ? did you check the oil to see if its got coolent in it ?
If you got it new I would take it back asap.

Oh crap I just realized how old this post is
