When I bought the quad the owner told me he would tighten the chain after every run. How much play should be on my top chain if I move it up and down? 1 " inch or
1/2 . I never got the owners manual . Will get one soon!

Those owners manuals aren't worth a chit. If I were you I'd go out and get a Clymer manual those are very detailed with pictures and everything.

It sounds like there may be a problem if he was having to adjust the chain tension every ride.

I would take a look at the chain, sprokets, adjusters and all the "nuts and bolts" to see if anything could show what the real problem is that was causing the need for constant adjustments.

Either manual you should decide on should work, but I have found the mfg's shop manuals designed for their own techs to be more designed for the experienced tech and have more detail in certain areas, and the clymers etc to be better for the less experienced and to have other info not in the other.

Still any manual is better than none and good to see yami put any info online.
