Hi, new to the site.I just bought a 1996 cat that is a little sick.It will not run except with choke on.Put a new plug, battery, fuel line w/filter and cleaned the air filter.The guy that I got it from claims that the carb has been rebuilt 4 times and it still runs like this.He says that the rectifier is bad but when it is running the battery shows that it is getting charge, although it isn't alot. Should I pull the carb and soak it or look some other place. Also I took it up the road and the header got red hot so I bought it back quicklyand shut it down.
