i just traded my yz125 for a 2003 yami kodiak 400. the guy told me it had been sitting up and needed to be cleaned up. so i cleaned the carb, air/oil filter and plug and it fired right up. i took the bike for few short rides just to test it out. then i try to figure out why the winch wasnt working so i took off the front plastics and i realized it was water cooled. i took the radiator cap off and i was bone dry. so i filled it up ran it and let it cool to top it off again and it was dry again. i figured that the the radiator held alot of water or the motor did too so i put more in and started it up. the bike started smoking and when i put my hand by the smoke it was steam.... i checked the oil and i was whiter than snow. while it was still running i noticed that there was water dripping out from the gasket below the spark plug. i guess that the head gasket is blown or what ever gasket that is. is there any other way that the water can get into the oil?? how can i check? please help with this prob. i am goin to read some other posts of the same subject but please reply im new to this site.

Sounds like this bike was once a submarine. You need to drain the oil multiple times, 5 or so until it flushes all the water out. Not sure if the engine is shot too but lets wait till some other techs see this post for recommendation.

hopefully its not shot and i will drain the oil and make it clean again.

You asked how else water can get into the oil?
1) Yes, a blown head gasket
2) Cracked head
3) Crack in the water jacket surround the cylinder
And a few others that don't come to mind right now.

Definitely change your oil at least three times.
Each time fire up the bike, let it warm......
Then cool off ten or fifteen minutes before draining and refilling the oil.
The final change you'll want to put in a new oil filter.

HOWEVER..........If you saw water on the outside of the cylinder, in the vicinity of the head gasket....
You can pretty much bet that gasket will have to be replaced before you do any oil changing.
Gaskets don't heal themselves!
