Thumbs down

Ok, first let me tell you that I have no idea what kind of four-wheeler it is, because it is not mine (it is my uncles). I am not that smart when it comes to working on four-wheelers, Jeeps are more my thing. But i do ride my uncles four-wheeler a lot. The problem is that on the bottom of the carb there is a little tube. There is gas constantly leaking out of it, and i have no clue why. The tube is just hanging there and i cant find any place where it would connect to. Anyone know what is going on

Sound to me like the float is stuck. Does it stop after a little time of running? Try tapping on the float bowl w/a screwdriver. This is not the way to fix it but it may help in a pinch. What you should do is rebuild the carb.

Paul is correct and it sounds like the fuel is just flooding the carb and going down the vent/overflow tube.

The reason for this can be one of a few but removing the carb and cleaning it out will most times stop the problem.

If its an older carb the needle on the float can be worn and need replacing but dont think it needs to be 20 yrs old to need it either cause I have seen 4yr old machines need them.

Still most times its nothing more than dirt on the jet etc.

Hey thanks. I took out the carb and cleaned and that is what it was (not sure why i didnt do that first ). Anyway, i took out all the gas that was in it and filled it up with some new gas and it runs like new. I ran the thing all over the place nearly flew into a pond, and got back in one piece, so all is good. Planing on doing the same thing Wednesday :rider:
