'97 king quad gaggging

I have a 97 king quad that runs fine then goes into a gagging fit and will only idle. When the gas is applied it just will not run properly. I shut of the quad off and restart several times and it clears up?!! then after some running it happens again!

What is this a problem with electrical or gas or what?
