Guys,
I just broke my front left axle on a 2002 650 prairie and I was wondering if any one of you recommends going with an oem or aftermarket?
Can anyone recommend a good mechanic and is this going to be costly?
Thanks for your help

prarie dogg just put his whole front end back together.
consisting of , 4wd, 2 wheels, a-arm, tie rod knuckle.
cost for parts = under $300.00
w/ service manual
I would get the manual , and the parts , and do it yourself..

when you say axle.. what exactly do you mean.. the 4wd axle? or a tie rod?
because after that ,the only thing left is the a-arm...? i think?

Sound advice, and if you have basic mechanical skills it shouldnt be that bad at all since most of these things are not anything special except for a couple of tools that most can be purchased or other tools made to work.
Just curious where your located in case you need to bring it to someone (for a referall etc), and you may find that pricing stuff over the internet can save you money even at your local dealer

One more thing... If you decide to do it yourself, be sure to check if any parts need to be pressed, ie: ball joints, etc.. if so , have the dealer press them for you, most will do it at no extra cost.
GOOD LUCK!
