Me and my buddies go out into open fileds and just give her with our ATVs. I let mine warm up pretty good before I run it, but when I do run it hard, it kills itself after about 15-30 min use. As u have the throttle down you can hear back fireing from the mufflur, like low comprasion. I let off the throutle and it does a steady delcine in throutle and dies intently. Then u can't start it shortyly after this occurs. U have to wait till it cools, but then it does it again. Its a 2005 fresh out of the shop. So I know nothing has been meesed with. <_<

That's Yamaha for you!!! I have never had any trouble with my Honda Rancher and it is or I should say I got it in 2002 and no trouble. It has 1400 or so miles. You should trade your yamaha in for a Honda.

Could be many things.
Did you break it in properly or did you give it hell the minute you got it?
Did you check the oil level? An engine will run without oil till it gets hot and will start again when cool.
You could have water in your fuel. Try draining your float. Since water is heavier than fuel the water sinks into the carb and sits under the main jet. Bloodline had this problem a couple of weeks back. This usually happens under heavy acceleration.
2005 should still be under warrenty. Take it back to the dealer.

a week after buying my kids quad (brand new). We ran into a similar problem.
after taking it back to the dealer, It turned out to be debris in the tank.
This could happen during assembly.
The fix was simple, open the float bowl and drain some fuel to push out the debris.
First try the simple solutions .
If all else fails..... bring it back !

Slower vehicles tend to last longer no matter who they're manufactured by. Being a slow rider also helps!

Excellent advice. Sounds like something is causing the carburetor bowl to run dry when the ATV consumes fuel at a higher rate.

at the bottom of the carb... it looks like a little bowl(1/2 circle) it should have a set screw(allen key) and a short hose. open the set screw to release some fuel into a CLEAN container .. look for debris.
good luck
