The atv will start up and run ,will rev up and idle but when i release starter button it will stop running any help will be appreciated

check your spark plug. make sure u have the right one, try re tuning your carb

You may have lost power or ground for the ignition ciruit. When cranking the ignition may run off the crank circuit as a bypass to insure voltage to the ignition, while cranking. When you stop cranking there is no more bypass volage to the ignition since it should have its own voltage to it in the run position, which you may be missing. Find and check all fuses and that you have power to the ignition in the run position. :smiliethumbup:

WHAT? spark plug ....He said it only runs when the starter button is pushed in.

Kieth,I think you got it .This machine has a bad ground or broken wire somewhere.

Has it been flipped and landed on to the bars lately ?
