Well, one side of the coil should have 12v to it constantly. The other side will have 12v on it also til it is grounded by ignition module/points whatever that quad has. I would start by checking if you even have power at the coil and then get back to us........

FreAK

PS, this post shoulda really been in the technical area.....(GUESS IT IS NOW)

Sorry to hear your ATV isn't running. What brand/who makes that particular ATV?

I believe he said its a honda. And it sat for 14 yrs?

1) Are you sure it has no spark? make sure you have a good plug in it,not the 14 yr old one.

2) And I know I sound like a broken record, but go buy a service manuel for this machine. If you know how to use a multi-meter there are simple trouble shooting steps in the book.Dont waste money and time guessing when for a small fee you can have all the info at your finger tips.

Be NICE!! Its a Honda it will run again and again aaand again :rider:

May just need the mice nest blown out of it.. Anyway start with a new plug. Clean all ground - connections, battery ground frame grounds ect. I would take the engine shut off assembly off the handle bars as for sometimes they short out to ground and you will loose spark. Disconnect and check that all wire connectors are clean and are in good shape. Like Jim said you cant beat a repair manual. Its money well spent.
