OK so I was out Sunday night riding and ran into some trouble. I rode around for a while and everything seemed fine. I fueled up before going back out and the gas was coming out of the can pretty slow. I figured it was something with the vent or the extreme cold. I head back out, ride about 5 minutes and all of a sudden its loosing power, sputtering and backfiring a lot. In neutral I rev it and it seems OK but I notice flames shooting out of the exhaust. In gear it doesn't want to rev high. As I made my way back it stalled a few times and wouldn't start. I would crank it and after a minute or two it would start back up but repeated this all the way back to the house. It seemed to be running fine when I loaded it up to head home.

Yesterday I took it out and rode around my back yard (made a little track to teach my GF to ride) and it was fine all day never doing any of the above even once. I thought maybe water got in the gas but dunno. Any suggestions from the gods that be to what the problem might have been? What I should do now? Thanks.

I never had a problem with fuel in the cold weather...so I don't know if thats your problem.
But I did have a similar problem as you ...and the result was dirt in the gas tank.
This happened the second ride...still on the feul from the dealer.
It turns out that debris was in the tank from the manufactering of the machine.

the fix was easy...open the screw on the float bowl and drain the fuel into SOMETHING CLEAN and look for debris...If that does not do it ....I dunno...I cook for a living :hysterical:

Good luck
