my XR200R won't start. it has gas,spark,compression. what else is there to do?
and the light come on when u kick it over
does it need an airbox to run?


if u feel sucking in the vALVES ARE BAD RIGHT?

Your suppose to feel it suck in when it turns over. You don't want to feel it blow out when you kick it.

It does need an air filter to create a vacuum for the fuel to flow into the engine. If you don't have one, get one.

Is it getting fuel into the engine? Has it sat for awhile? What's the plug look like? What year is it? The forums are a hard place to diagnose problems.

Your best bet is to get a factory manual and check over all the specks.

Your valves could need adjustment or your timing may be out. It can be a variety of things that can cause a four stroke to not start.

its a 87'. the guy had it started a month ago.

it has a brand new plug, and i sprayed eather into the engine.
