Default

My Suzuki 160 has started leaking gas out of the vent on the bottom of the carb.Every time when I turn on the gas it starts running out until I turn off the gas.It has just started this any ideas.

If it's comming out of the top half of the carb, those are fuel bowl vents. If it's out of the bottom, it's the "overflow". If your overflow has a screw right were the hose comes out, that's the drain plug. Make sure it's tight.

Other than that, you floats might be stuck. Tap on the fuel bowl with the handle of screwdriver and hopefully that solves the problem. Otherwise, you're going to have to open it up to see what's wrong with your float hieght or valve/seat.

It sounds like you need a new float needle if it back fires at all that will be a clear sign of that.
but it can be a couple of other things like ,it sounds as if you have a over flow problem.
It also sounds like it can be dirt or rust deposits on the valve seat , or it also can be the float is set to high and its preventing the float valve from closing. This happens when the carb is dirty , you be surprised what a dirty carb can do. when you take it apart see if gas is sitting all up in there.
